Intoxicated is a series of work based on the study of the atmosphere in a bar as well as the nature of drinking. Through the play of imagery and visual composition, the series’ objective is to highlight the juxtaposition between drinking for leisure and drinking to escape from misery. Both works employed superimposed and repetitive images of people drinking and dancing to capture the atmosphere in a bar. In Intoxicated 2, to stress on the sense of isolation and lost within oneself after consuming alcohol, separate plates are used in one print. Play on negative spaces is also used to capture the effects of intoxication.
